EC meter
What is it?
An EC meter measures the electrical conductivity of a solution, giving us an indication of how many dissolved salts and nutrients are present.
It doesn't tell us exactly which nutrients are in the water.
🔬LopolisBiotech use?
We measure EC before and after watering to compare how much dissolved fertilizer remains in the solution after passing through the substrate.
We don't use it for every watering. Instead, it is a diagnostic tool we use from time to time to establish a reference point and see how our plants and fertilizer system are behaving.
For our experiments, that reference can help us decide where to look next.
