Monstera Adansonii is a climbing tropical aroid known for its characteristic fenestrated leaves. Variegated forms add an additional layer of unpredictability through changing patterns and colour expression.

We have been growing Variegated Monkey Mask for approximately 1 year, testing it in organic, zeolite and mineral substrates.
🌱 Root development
Organic mix - strongest and most reliable growth for us.
Zeolite mix - plants can grow well, but initial establishment is noticeably more difficult.
Mineral mix - promising so far, with finer roots and good establishment. Our experience is currently limited to approximately 2 months.

🧬 Our conclusion
This plant is both fascinating and frustrating. Keeping its variegation stable has proven difficult, with plants shifting from almost completely green to highly variegated patterns and back again.
It is also a magnet for pests in our experience and needs more frequent treatment than most species we grow.
For us, it remains an ongoing experiment — beautiful, unpredictable and challenging.
