About the plant:
Monstera deliciosa is a large climbing tropical aroid known for its mature fenestrated leaves and strong climbing habit. Given enough space and suitable conditions, it can develop into a very large and impressive plant.
🔬 LopolisBiotech observations
This was our first plant, and we have been growing it for over 3 years. Our early experience was a learning process, especially with substrates and tropical plant care.
🌱 Root development
Organic mix - our only tested substrate so far. We use a thick layer of lava rock at the bottom for additional drainage and have experienced no significant root problems.
The aerial roots are consistently aim back toward the pot for additional moisture and support.
💧 Watering
Organic substrate was watered based on actual moisture, using a soil moisture meter.

🧬 Our conclusion
This plant is a true growth machine once it gets established. Our 3-year-old specimen already has more than 10 leaves, with 5 exceeding 40 cm, and growth seems to accelerate as the plant gets larger.
It has also shown very little pest pressure for us, even when heavily infested plants were growing nearby.
Its real beauty comes with time, space and consistently good conditions.
