About the plant:
Monstera Thai Constellation is a stable variegated form of Monstera deliciosa, known for its creamy, constellation-like patterns. The plant was reportedly discovered in Thailand around the 1970s, where its distinctive variegation became the foundation for the Thai Constellation we know today.

We have been growing Thai Constellation for over 1 year and have not observed any major recurring problems.
🌱 Root development
Organic mix - root development is initially gentle, but once established in a good aroid mix, the plant develops strongly.
We initially worried about overwatering and often allowed the plant to dry more between waterings. During summer, however, it proved capable of absorbing surprisingly large amounts of water without developing root problems.

Our main tool here is the soil moisture meter. Instead of relying on assumptions about what the plant “should” need, we check the actual substrate moisture before watering.

🧬 Our conclusion
Thai Constellation may be more sensitive to overwatering, but our experience shows that it can also consume a lot of water when actively growing.
It is not a typical “bright indirect light only” plant. With gradual acclimatization, it can thrive in very strong sunlight, especially when introduced during winter and allowed to adapt as sunlight increases toward summer.
For us, it is the “sunflower of aroids” — more light means faster growth, and this plant can absolutely thrive when given it.
