About the mix
A 50/50 blend of sphagnum moss and our organic mix, created to make moss-based growing more forgiving. The organic component adds structure and aeration while the moss still provides strong moisture retention.

We tested pure sphagnum for around 1.5 years and found it difficult to keep consistently hydrated without frequent manual watering. After around 6 months of testing this blend, the experience has been much better: it stays airy while holding moisture, and its structure allows water to spread through the mix when rehydrated.
So far, Philodendron sp., Monstera sp. and other aroids have shown healthy root development without the repeated drying or rotting we experienced with pure moss.
