Philodendron Painted Lady is a semi-climbing aroid known for its bright yellow-green leaves, red petioles and attractive colour contrast. It is widely grown as an ornamental houseplant and is generally considered beginner-friendly.

We have been growing Painted Lady for over 1 year, testing it in organic and zeolite-based substrates.
🌱 Root development
Organic mix - reliable growth with no significant root problems observed.
Zeolite mix - also performed very well, with faster growth under our LED lighting and semi-hydro setup compared with our normal growing conditions.
💧 Watering
Organic substrate was watered based on actual moisture, using a soil moisture meter.
Zeolite mix received a fresh nutrient solution approximately every 3 days.

🧬 Our conclusion
Painted Lady has proven to be a very easy and forgiving plant for us. It grows well in both organic and semi-hydro setups when given enough light.
Despite being less popular because it has become common, we still consider it a beautiful, beginner-friendly Philodendron with very few root problems. Based on our observations, pests also seem less interested in it.
